Progressive Dinner

<

What a night out! The progressive dinner was a BIG hit, all around! The ladies all gathered in the parking lot of Safeway (about 14 in all) and headed out to our first stop-appetizers at Beth's house. She had a beautiful and welcoming spread set up for all to enjoy, as you can see from the pictures. Great host award to Beth for all her thoughtful preperation!
Next stop was salads at Trina's house which was delicious and inviting. Lots of visiting was going on in between bites of course. Thanks to Trina for accomidating our entire group of mamas!

Everyone headed back to pick up their cars at Safeway and then it was off to Pam's for enchilada dinner! She had the place set up very Mexican restaurant style with sombreros for photo ops! What a wonderful and thoughtful host, thanks Pam.

We ended the evening at Suzanne's house for delicious and decadent cake and games. A round of spoons that hurt a finger or two and then it was a few rounds of Catch Phrase (side note: An e-tailer is a retailer that primarily uses the Internet as a medium for customers to shop for the goods or services provided. For those interested in the information!)
All together it was a wonderful way to end out our year, for our MOPS group. ORTING mamas know how to party!

Testimony and Tea at MOPS

What a wonderful morning for our Spring Tea and Testimony meeting on May 3rd, 2008. Even though it was rainy and cold outside, we were warmed up by the spring-like decor in the room. The table leaders were amazing with their table decorating for the day, tea pots included. The agendas and name plates were printed on a floral stationary. We had a full morning of fellowship at the tables as everyone enjoyed the delicious snacks and beverages. We moved into the sharing time with Miki as our guest speaker, who shared on "The Joys of Motherhood".

Every word spoken came from her heart and God used her powerful message to touch every mother's heart there. Marion and Amberlyn also shared the joy of their relationship with Christ and the impact it has on their life and their families. Lives were changed as each mother was given the opportunity to commit their life to christ and many did just that. What a memorable meeting we had as we prepare to close out our first year of Orting MOPS!

Mops Meeting (4-26-08)

Surprise! It is Coordinator Appreciation Day! We were able to pull off a surprise for Suzanne to shower her with love and gratitude for all the months of hard work she has taken on to make Orting Mops a reality. Heidi Maschhoff and Heidi Bekken were a hit on the stage as Suzanne and Nathan, with a plastic baby playing the part of Will! The skit involved phone calls from: mom, speaker, cornerstone owner, table leader and finance leader letting Suzanne know there was some new things she needed to be aware of that did not "make her day" but then she gets a call from a mops mom that lets her know how meaningful MOPS is in her life and Suzanne is relieved to know that it is all worth it cause "Mothering Matters."
Each table member wrote cards, gave gifts and Trina Munsch was able to put it all together and present it all to Suzanne, who was very blessed. What a great time of bonding as a group.
We followed up this time with Trisha N, who spoke on organization in the home. What a time of learning as we all took in her amazing ideas, inspiring everyone to get their home in tip-top shape!

LOOKING FOR A PERMANENT HOME FOR ORTING MOPS 2008-2009!

We have two options we are currently exploring. The Orting Christian church for the moms and the Orting Co-op Preschool across the street for the Moppets. The second option we are exploring is the Orting Catholic Church. This might be available during the week, which would be ideal. Keep praying and we will keep you updated once anything becomes official.

Men's Panel Meeting

This last meeting on March 22nd, was jam packed with laughs and perspecitve. The hospitality team with the help of Alicia was able to put on a skit about Easter. As you can see from the photos it was a riot; everyone got in some good laughs!

We had our first for the year, men in the room! We invited 3 dads from the community to share their fatherly perspective to the moms of MOPS. Joey Miller (Suzanne's husband), Dale Devries ( dad of 7 and soon to be grandpa) along with Tom Nemes (Amberlyn's husband) were our wonderful speakers. We appreciated the time and energy they took to share with everyone in the room and know that we all walked away better from it.

As always it is fun to grab some pictures of the tables enjoying time together during discussion time! We have really bonded during the year over this time of sharing with one another. Hope you all have a blessed Easter!
