Great Cooking Session at the Orting MOPS group:
Tamara Potter, the owner of the Park Bench and mother of 4 children came and shared her passion of easy, healthy and fret-free cooking with us on Tuesday, November 18th.
She even showed a fun and easy dinner idea for us exhausted and busy moms: Throw a plastic table cloth on the table, set out plastic silverware and then pour your mac'n cheese straight on the tablecloth. Once you are done, roll up the cloth and silverware and throw it in the garbage!
She showed some great pasta options from Safeway to use in kid friendly food as well. Lots of great ideas on freezing foods and making meal time quick and nutricious!

Deceptively Delicious
As a mother of three, Jessica Seinfeld, like many busy parents, used to struggle to get her kids to eat right. In Deceptively Delicious, she shares her solutions: Easy, mouthwatering recipes that even the most overwhelmed families can make—stealthily packed with unseen veggies, pureed so kids will never suspect.

Thank you to Tamara who inspired us all by her family friendly and fun ideas in the kitchen!

Meeting on Election Day

November 4th Election Day MOPS meeting. The room was decorated in red, white and blue. There were stickers on jackets stating "I voted" and the USA flag was proudly displayed. Moms were blessed by the extra babysitting time they were offered once the meeting was over to get childless voting minutes in before the business of the day set in. Thanks to all who donated their time to watch kids!
Our Mops meeting was so fun! We were able to share ideas for Rainy Days. All the moms pitched in with fun stuff they have done with their kids or as a kid themself. Corrine Yonkers was leading the discussion time and did a great job....go
Corrine! She shared about cherio necklaces that she made as a kid, giving you a fun activity in the car or at a doctor's waiting room. Shelly Chapman shared about using post-it notes to create people figures without the messy glue being involved. Heide Maschoff suggested creating a bin with kids toys hidden in beans. Claire Lapenski suggested creating a portable race track for matchbox cars. There were some great ideas and lots of discussion! What a fun way for moms to network together and share from their own experiences.
Everyone was able to walk away with new and fresh ideas!
